Let's talk about 2 tips that can help make your content marketing strategy more effective in achieving your Digital Marketing goals.
Today, I'd like to talk about how you can run an effective content marketing strategy for your online business. Two areas I'm going to focus on today are your competitive landscape and linking to external websites. Let's get started.
When you want to build an effective content marketing strategy, the first thing you should do is look at your competition. Understand the type of content that they are posting and the type of content that your target audience is looking for. The key to getting your content indexed by search engines is the actual keywords and wording that you're using within the content, as well as the engagement rate.
So how do you find out what keywords to use in your content such as your blog posts, or other articles on your website?
There's tools out there such as Buzzsumo and SEM Rush and a couple of others that will allow you to analyze your competition and build an understanding of what keywords are helping them rank highly on search engines for their content. By running a competitive analysis & figuring out who your competition is and using these tools to understand what words are the right words to use in your content, you're more likely to create content that will help you rank higher on search engines.
It's important to have links from good websites linking back to your website. Websites that have a high Page Rank on Google are more favorable; so you want to seek out which websites are ranking highly in your industry and find a way for them to link back to your content. Page Rank is the ranking Google gives to a certain website using their proprietary algorithm. It factors in traffic patterns, engagement rates, bounce rates and other metrics to evaluate the website.
In your articles, incorporate links to these good websites that have a high Page Rank in your content and have a conversation with the owners of these websites. Ask them if they'd be willing to link back to your website. The only way they'll do this is if they see you are posting content on your website and creating the right links to their website so you can create a cooperative relationship between your website and these other websites that are ranking with a higher page rank than yours.
If you can follow these 2 steps regularly on your blog or website, you're sure to increase the ranking of the content that you're creating for your audience.
