How to Choose the Right Agency to Execute Your SEO Strategy

In today's Digital Marketing Moment, I'm going to share a couple of tips that will help your company decide which SEO agency is the right fit for your business in growing your online presence. 

Start by creating a list of potential vendors that seem like a good fit. Next, start the process by scheduling some interviews with the prospect agencies. You want to pay attention to the questions that these agencies are asking you. 

Some questions the right SEO provider should be asking you:

  • What is your unique value proposition?
  • Who are your customers?
  • What are the goals of your website?
  • Who are your competitors? 

These are the types of questions you want to hear them ask. This will show you where their focus is, whether they're going to give you a cookie-cutter solution or whether they're going to build a solution and strategy that's customized for your business. There's no effective cookie-cutter solution out there for Search Engine Optimization, or building your online presence. A successful strategy depends on many factors and the right agency will ask the right questions to really understand what your business needs. 

Check References

Once you've gone through the interview process, ask these agencies to provide references. Talk to the companies they're working with, and ask them how the process works with these companies, and how easy they are to work with, and the type of results they're getting. 

Get a Proposal after an Audit or Discovery

Once the references are complete, you're going to ask the 1-2 agencies that are left in your short-listing process to put together a proposal for your business. This may involve going through an audit or Discovery Process of your website, analytics reports and other metrics so that they can understand exactly what your business needs and build a proposal that's customized and catered for your business. 

Once you've got the proposals in hand, it should be relatively easy to figure out which agency is going to develop the strategy that's going to make your business win and meet your online presence goals.
